What am I working on?

This year has been a tough one. First world problems, of course. I have a roof over my head, food on the table and a loving husband with fur babies! However, that doesn’t mean my body can differentiate good or bad stress. And moving is stressful. We have moved quite a bit over the years and this was a short lived move from Fredericksburg, Texas to Charleston, Sc for a year and now in Dayton, Ohio. Let’s move one before I go into everything.

Needles to say, I have been terrible about getting in the studio and creating and I have spent more time on my other business. I am bustling with ideas but getting into the studio to actually MAKE these ideas.. struggle. So I am mapping out a plan and hoping that (distractions aside) I can get into making a few of these ideas. I have quite a few hand painted leather art pieces in mind as well as some handbags that are going to be saddle stitched and one of a kind. That is another thing I discovered - how much I prefer saddle stitching my pieces over making things on the sewing machine. It is exponentially better quality and to me, more peaceful to create with. I am so grateful to have mastered this skill and I hope to continue to enhance it over the years.

Other things I am working on - taking a film photography class (I would love to dabble in art direction and photography more) as well ad enhancing my Procreate skills not only for my visual brand building business, ETC Creative Studio but also to plan my leather art out ahead of time so it is easier to execute. Its like a digital sketch of what I want to do so I do not loose the vision in my head, which happens a lot.

So that may or may not answer you question but I do have things in the works and I am hoping to launch a few new pieces each month. No major drops or planning more like creating the beautiful pieces in my head and freeing them to the world in hope you buy one.
