A Week in the Life…

Well here I am thinking I would be blogging once a week but here we are… a YEAR later haha

I thought I would do some diving into what my weeks look like. To be honest, they change every week.

Monday

Monday’s are always busy. I usually get started around 7:30a on my laptop working on admin like bookkeeping, SEO and web design updates (many times even in my pjs). I also plan out my days in my iPhone calendar for the week including any client meetings, workout classes, the grocery store as well as time in the studio working on new pieces and time at my laptop working on branding clients. Usually I spend a little time on branding/web design clients as well. I go to the same Pilates class every Monday at 12p to start my week off building strength, followed by my weekly grocery run. Currently I am in a group doing check ins for The Artist’s Way that meets every Monday at 3p. We chat about the tasks, the chapters, and the work we are doing. After that I continue my work day at the computer until around 5:30p or so and start dinner. I am the chef in my house. I eat super clean and cook pretty much every meal.

Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday

These days are always a mixed bag! Tuesday’s I usually have a morning Pilates class followed by branding client work at a local coffee shop or at home. I usually spend the second half of the day after lunch in the studio cutting, prepping or editing a pattern or a new piece of art. Wednesday’s are usually spent in the studio the entire day. As well as Thursday’s. I have gotten out of this routine a bit and I have been at my desk a bit more since my sweet pup, Lunie has been sick. So now she is more stable, I am starting to get back in my studio more consistently. So be ready - my next drop of handmade goods are going to be launching soon! I usually end my days around 5:30-6p to start dinner and feed my girls! I try to never work late at night unless its a deadline so I can spend time with my husband.

Friday

Usually back at my computer or I make Friday’s open to meet people and network or do something different even it’s just for a couple of hours. I will do client work early in the morning and I usually do another Pilates class around noon and it’s one of my favorite classes of the week. This Friday I have breakfast plans with a new friend (they may get rescheduled so I will go to do something fun like the Dayton Art Institute or an antique shop if it does) followed by Pilates, then I have an afternoon of client calls scheduled until about 4p. So I will probably wrap up my day earlier and read on the back porch if the weather allows!

Saturday & Sunday

I usually spend one day a weekend working if not atleast half a day or sometimes both. As a self employed person with only myself as an ‘employee’, I am ALWAYS behind and there is always something to do haha but fret not, I always take time off to rest and relax (and sometimes it happens on a Wednesday afternoon)!

So this is really rough and just a peek into my ultimate week. Over the last few months it has not looked like this at all. It has been many vet appointments and giving my dog fluids and trying not to have meltdowns many days. As things are getting stable this is what I am trying to get back into as it was a schedule that worked for me earlier this year. It may also change significantly as I have decided to take on more branding clients (check out ETC Creative Studio for more!).

Sending love and light to y’all.

xx Erin
