Designer Thoughts
This bag is named after my fraternal grandmother, Ruth Mary Tufts. She would spend summers teaching me to sew by the pool and to shorten the hem on my Barbie dress that my other grandmother insisted stay at the knees. My love of the beach comes from Ruth.
I love small bags with top handles. I played around with so many designs and ideas and just ended up chopping the corners slightly for a fun shape and detail. I designed back in 2015 and didn't develop until 2017. My desire for a beautifully structured bag that looks great sitting on the counter or walking down the street. I think of it as elevated décor for the body. This style is reminiscent of a handbag from the 40s-50s reinvented, very old world meets new. This is a piece to spark that jolt of energy.
